I saw the quadrupled beast = fido and the fungal hound = myke, right? Looks super interesting!)
Shaking Gideon's hand with a bit more of a squeeze than necessary, he says: "Hi Gideon, I'm Damiyen. To be honest, I've been more of a lone wolf in the past, so the whole partner thing is new to me, too.", emphasizing the partner to make clear that he does not want to be commanded by somebody he does not even really know.
He then respectfully takes a step towards Myke and Fido and sees how they react to him.
